Lago de Bolsena !
The Lake of Bolsena, in a valley surrounded by breathtaking views and lush green hills and silvery olive groves, is entirely settled in the province of Viterbo, Lazio, but extremely close to both Tuscany and Umbria, and it is facing many towns by the very picturesque old towns centers, like Bolsena, Montefiascone, Marta, Capodimonte, Valentano, Gradoli and Grotte di Castro.
Lago de Bolsena is the largest volcanic lake in Europe, with its 113.5 km² and is the fifth largest Italian lake; from its surface also rises two islands, the Bisentina and Martana ones.
Among the two, Bisentina is the largest and the only one that can be visited (because the other is private) with a ferry service departing from Bolsena and Capodimonte.
